NOW: I bought this dress recently from a local consignment shop. Initially the jewel tone is what drew me to it, but upon closer inspection, I realized the tiny squares that print the dress were velvet! It was then that I knew it would be the perfect holiday dress. I tried it on, it fit perfectly, and the rest is history. Above, you see that I’ve paired it with a navy turtleneck, black opaque tights, black heels, a snakeskin clutch, and accented silver jewelry.
LATER: I’m not one to wear a dress only one way– or any article of clothing for that matter. Before I even bought this dress, I started making a mental list of how many different outfits I could create. The look above is something I would wear to school. It’s a little more casual, but still chic. I took an oversized button down shirt, and layered it atop the dress so it gave it the illusion of a skirt. For color, I cinched my waist with a teal belt, and added a few beaded bracelets. I can’t go anywhere without my combat boots, and I felt a beanie toned everything down a notch. So, once the holidays are over, and it’s time to go back to school– I’m still going to rock this dress!
On another note, Christmas is tomorrow! I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 🙂
