Created by a woman who wanted to design an alternative to the dreaded fanny pack, Hips-sister is a fashionable and functional belt that you can slip over your hips and store your phone, keys, money, earphones, etc. when you workoutcp_w16_niyah-simone-4171

I think this is a genius idea. There’s been times where I didn’t have pockets to keep my phone or keys in, but I wanted to go for a run on the campus track. I didn’t feel comfortable leaving it on the bleachers where I wouldn’t be able to keep an eye on it, so I awkwardly held everything in my hand, or in my bra. Thankfully, Hips-sister is a much better alternative. I can be hands free when I run without having to worry about anything spilling out. cp_w16_niyah-simone-4221cp_w16_niyah-simone-4212

Hips-sister comes in three sizes, A, B, and C ranging from a size 2-24. They have plenty of fabric choices and colors so you can express yourself in your own unique way. Best of all, they’re very inexpensive, averaging at $25. Perhaps the perfect stocking stuffer.

Power Mask $76 Night Cream $109 Lip Balm $14

Junetics is a line of skincare powered by the E24 Complex –  a revolutionary combination of Gluco-E, Plant Stem Cells, Copper and Amino Acids, Hyaluronic Acid and Silicium – to create a system of skincare that will completely transform the skin. Known as the Junetics Pure Energy System, this system works non-stop to boost cellular energy and cell-to-cell communication to refine and strengthen the skin. The result of using Pure Energy System is radiant, luminous, moisturized, supple, and firmer, less wrinkled, more youthful skin.

If you know someone who loves to pamper herself, and is obsessed with quality skincare, this just may be the perfect gift. I loved these products, and how they made my skin feel afterward. I first began with the power mask which is a two step process. I first applied the energy mask which is a thick gel-like texture, but slides on like a serum. It has a yummy citrus scent. I left that on for 10 minutes, and then added step two which is the energy activator. I dispensed 3 pumps of that and massaged it into my skin on top of the mask. Immediately I could feel my skin warming signaling the cells becoming energized.

After rinsing off the mask with warm water, I used the pure energy night cream to moisturize my face. I normally don’t wash my face or moisturize it at night, so I was excited to try this. Once applied, my skin felt incredibly hydrated and my face had a dewy look to it. The cream is lightweight, but super nourishing and works to recover your skin while it’s at rest.

My final step was to use Junetic’s pure energy lip balm to recover moisture. I like the flat, slanted tip applicator. It makes it easy to apply since it matches the shape of my lips, unlike EOS lip balm for example. Formulated with shea butter, jojoba seed, grape seed, and other oils, the balm gave me the hydration I needed. It also provided a dewy finish, without looking super glossy, which I like.

Unwash For the Hair Enthusiast

Try Me Kit $25

According to their website, Unwash challenges the harsh cycle of traditional shampoo, condition, repeat. It is a gentle co-wash system that works for all hair types, is free of sulfates and parabens that strip away your hair’s natural oils, and promotes healthy, moisturized hair. I decided to give it a try, and was pleasantly surprised with the results.

Step one is the bio-cleansing conditioner, which is to be used in replace of shampoo. I am no stranger to co-washing. I typically use interchange between washing with conditioner and shampoo every other wash day. So, it was interesting to give another one a try. The first thing I noticed was the amazing smell. I got a whiff of honey dew-yum! When I applied the conditioner it was not sudsy at all. At first I thought this felt like I wasn’t getting a deep clean, but then I remembered something I’d learned a while ago which is, suds are actually an indication that the product is too harsh on the cuticle.

Step two is the anti-residue clean which gently removes build up. Throughout the week I put in different oils to keep my hair moisturized, so I knew I needed something like this to start from scratch. What I wasn’t prepared for was the texture of my hair once applied. This product was the complete opposite of the previous one, it was incredibly sudsy! So much in fact that as I was rubbing it in, I started to hear a squeaky noise. My hair felt hard to handle because of this. It kind of felt like rubber, and I could no longer run my hands over my hair easily. I knew it was working though, because there was literally no moisture from previous products left in my hair.

Thank God for step three, the hydrating masque, because I so desperately needed hydration back in my hair. The masque locked back in moisture. I left it on for 4 minutes, and when I rinsed it out my hair felt smooth and silky again. Overall, the products work really well together, and I like that there’s no harsh chemicals. When I went to style it, my hair felt manageable and soft.

The bottom line? I would recommend gifting this to someone, or trying it for yourself, if you want to shake up your normal wash routine. You may want to start with the travel sized kit before committing to the full sized products.
