3.1 Phillip Lim A/W 2012

Over the next few days I’ll be posting my favorite looks from the NYFW/Fall12 collections. Also, I’ll be sharing some tips on how to get the looks for yourself for way less! Today I am starting with 3.1 Phillip Lim.
I am a huge fan of him because there’s just something about his design aesthetic that is pleasing to me. In these three looks, you can see his pattern of simplicity, clean silhouettes and almost an architectural  structure. It’s kind of strange that I am attracted to these things because it’s not exactly my style. I like to think that my style is a little less minimalistic and more fun with splashes of color here and there. I do like the basic elements of his design though. For example in the first picture his sheer neckline and cutout detail at the top is impeccable! I am a big fan of how the sweater looks cozy, but not too bulky in the second picture; in the third, the way he puts black panels on the outside of the dress and white as the main focus point gives the illusion of a curves–genius!

Now to get the feel of the collection for less…
