So far in this series, we’ve covered hairstyles, outfits, and makeup looks perfect for back to school… But we can’t forget about our nails! Above, is the nail design I’m currently wearing. I took a metallic green polish from Sephora as my first color, once that dried, I used an eyeshadow brush to sponge black on the bottoms. The look is edgy, and kind of grunge– perfect to go with how I’m changing up my style. Take a look at the slideshow below, to be further inspired.
1.Circle Skirts- These fun flirty skirts are going to be a hit for the fall season. The circle skirt strutted its’ stuff down the runway with designers like Kate Spade and Victoria Beckham. No longer a project predicated to home ec. Class, these skirts are a huge hit! The best part about circle skirts is that they look great on any body type and are super fun to wear. During the beginning of the school year they can be paired with flats or cute sandals, and as the weather starts to cool down, you can throw on a pair of colorful, fall-inspired tights and ankle boots. This is a definite must have in your closet, and the best thing is they can be found at stores like Forever 21 for only $11.00 bucks. That means you can grab two! One in a bright fall color and one in a neutral. Happy shopping.
2.Oversized Duffle Bags- These were all over the runway during the Mercedes Benz Fashion week Fall 2013 collections. Just about every designer showing during MBFW had their models sporting these oversized duffles. What’s great about these handbags is that, not only are they stylish but they are multifunctional! The duffle bag can double as your purse and class tote. You can throw your iPad or small notebook into these bags and head over Freshman Psych 101 to make your totally stylish entrance! No need to spend big bucks on these bags either. Head on over to Target and grab one now for less than $35.00 bucks!
3.Slim Cropped Pants –Denim/black /prints/camel color- These will be all the rage this fall. The ankle length pant comes in EVERY color imaginable. The pants are great because they hit you right at the ankle making them faltering for all sizes. Tall girls will look great in these pants if they pair them with a pair of booties and flats. Short petit girls can now also get into the action (finally a pair of pants we won’t have to hem!) You can find them in stores like Banana Republic (ON SALE NOW), Old Navy, and Gap. I could keep going but then you would probably miss out on grabbing you a pair, or two, or THREE! They’re such a great deal you might as well make sure you grab them in every color.4.Cape Sleeved Jackets- THINK OLIVA POPE FROM SCANDAL. Who doesn’t want to look as sassy as Miss Pope! The cape sleeved jacket is having a major moment right now and if you get your hands on one, especially in dark turquoise or steal grey, or camel, then you will be making your “gladiator” statement for sure. You’ll be able to find one at stores like Burlington Coat Factory.
5.Statement Prints- BIG, BOLD, EXITING, REFRESHING, WOW! Just a few adjectives to describe the statement, statement prints make when wearing them. Whether you do prints in pants, shirts or scarfs no matter how you decide to wear them JUST WEAR THEM. They make you stand out from the crowd and they will be a MAJOR hit this fall. You absolutely cannot start the school year without having a statement print in your wardrobe. Go to the Gap, H&M, or Forever 21 to pick up your statement print today…..no seriously like run over there NOW!

School is just around the corner. There are a lot of runway beauty trends out there, but many of them may cause some unwanted stares. While you may not be wearing a smokey eye like this one or a bold lip such as this, you can still look fresh off the runway on the first day of school! Check out some cute runway looks that are both school appropriate and chic below.
You may not be able to go as dramatic as the look pictured above, but a cat-eye is perfect for the girl who likes a little edge. It goes perfectly with any outfit that you choose. The best part of the cat-eye is that all you need is eye liner and mascara. Once you get the hang of applying it you will have an easy go to look for every day of school.
Subtle Pink Lip
For a little color, just apply a Chapstick first, and rub a little pink lipstick on your finger. Rub in the lipstick for a sheer finish that’s subtle, but still very pretty. This is a great look for those in a rush. Swipe on a coat of mascara and you’re good to go!
Metallic lids are perfect for the girly girl. The cat-eye might be a little too bold for her, but she still likes to have a little extra glitz in her daily makeup look. If you stick to copper and gold tones this look can be subtle and school appropriate. Add a thin line of eyeliner and a coat or two of mascara and you will achieve a fresh eye-catching look.
Funnily enough, this season’s runway shows had a lot of less is more. Minimalism is a huge trend for the fall. Just a hint of mascara and blush paired with a nude or pink lip is all you need. This is perfect for the no muss or fuss girl. She likes to look presentable every day, but does not feel the need to wear too much make up. There is a lot to appreciate about natural beauty and the minimalistic look embraces that!
Whether you are the type of girl who likes to go bold or stick to the bare minimum you can look runway ready when you step on school grounds this year. Hopefully the looks above inspired you!
