Winners of “What Would You Wear to a Day at the Beach?”

“Lets Go To The Beach”
Created by rosa-spiralingstar

In first place was rosa-spiralingstar who chose a nautical bikini, celebrity style sunglasses, glam sandals and a cropped top for her beach look. I love that she thought to add sunscreen (an accessory just as important as the nail polish and charm bracelet she also added)!

“Honeymoon III”

In second was racheljay. I loved the bohemian feel her beach outfit gave off. A white maxi skirt, straw hat, floral suit and a nook all gave off signs of a great vacation!

In third place was sunnybunny09 who featured a bright ruched one-piece (a great eye-catcher), a tunic coverup, a wide-brimmed hat and a straw bag– now that’s what I call a classic look for a day at the beach!

Congrats to all of you ladies! For those of you who didn’t join this contest and want to be apart of the next Polyvore contest and get a chance to be featured on the blog, follow my group and wait to be notified when there’s a new contest :)

Logo Design Contest

Logo Design Contest
Calling All Artists and Illustrators!

I am looking for someone to do a custom illustration to be apart of a new
logo I am doing for my blog, http://inexpensivechic.com/. Inexpensive Chic
is a fashion blog I started last summer that shows young women how to
“look like a million bucks without spending a million bucks.” It’s been
about 11 months now since I’ve started this blog, and it has surpassed my
expectations with how well received it has been. The blog has readers not
only in the U.S. but all over the world; and it is continuing to grow
everyday.

I want to take it to the next level–and that’s where
you come in!

My goal is to create a more visually appealing logo/header/banner for
Inexpensive Chic. I would love to have a fashion illustration along the lines
of the niche of the blog:

  • Dress For Less
  • Shopping

One example of this would be a fashionable looking girl
holding shopping bags that say “SALE” on them. Although, feel free to
offer your own suggestions, I am open to new ideas.

So, are you interested? Is this something you think you would like to try?
The winning illustration will be used as the blog’s new logo. The artist
will be rewarded with a feature on the blog, showcasing their most prized
artwork, as well as a $10 i-tunes giftcard!

If this is something you’d be willing to do, please email me at niyahashidasimone@gmail.com
and I will be glad to send you further details of what I am looking for. Thank
you so much in advance :)

Diptic | Tell The Story.

I just downloaded a new photo collage app (99 cents) for my iPhone 4s called Diptic!! I am super excited about it because I use collages on my phone all the time, but Diptic is my top choice. Read more about it after the jump and see how you can enter their first contest!

“Diptic is a new app designed to quickly and easily combine multiple photos to create a new image collage. What’s unique about Diptic is that it offers over 52 frames to choose from and the user is able to tweak brightness, contrast and saturation, and adjust border color, width and curvature.”

The app won third place in the photography category in the 2010 Best App Ever Awards.

They are launching their first official contest – “Tell The Story” for the best picture that tells a story. Some ideas might include a creative collage of an outfit from start to finish or even a make-up or hair tutorial!

To submit and be part of the contest, applicants can either email their photo or post it on a social media platform with the hash tag #DipticTellTheStory! The winner will receive an OlloClip, the fisheye, wide-angle and macro lens for the iPhone that fits in your pocket!

Time frame:
Contest Begins: May 10, 2012 at 7 a.m. PST
Contest Ends: June 4, 2012 at 12 a.m. PST

Judging will be based on:
Creativity, aesthetics, and best interpretation of the theme “Tell the Story.”
