Trend: Wide Brimmed Hats

I am seeing a new twist on last season’s fedora hats. This season, the floppier, the better. Take a look at how everyday people on the street are wearing them, how it’s worn on the runway and where you can find one for a reasonable price.

Button Down, Backpack, Boots, Oh My! +some exciting news

I was out pretty much all day at a Latin Convention with my class yesterday (yes, it’s a little nerdy- but hey it was kinda fun!) Anyways, one of our student teachers was there too and she wore a super cute short sleeve knit sweater and a button down underneath. I loved how effortless, yet chic it looked, so I wanted to try! I chose this sweater from Salvation Army because the scoop neck showed off the button down’s (Forever21) collar the best. Then I added a belt just to see how it looked (Charlotte Russe). The necklace and backpack were a gift. I thought I’d change it up a bit and wear my military style pants (Kohl’s) instead of regular jeans. Overall I thought the look was a little different from from how I’d usually dress, but I did like the way it turned out.

Now, I have some exciting news. A few weeks ago I got an email from the Editor-in-Chief/Founder of this online magazine called High School Pieces. She had seen my blog and wanted to know if I was interested in writing for the website. After talking through it with my parents and reading through the paperwork, I am officially a contributing writer! I should have my first article published very soon! I will be updating you guys on my pieces by providing links that you can go to each time. I am so excited! This is a great opportunity for me to develop myself as a writer.

Fav stores: Zara, hands down. It’s chic and affordable.
One outfit you couldn’t live without? A stylish and warm jacket to beat the cold autumn days, a dress that is lightweight and allow lots of movement to fit with my busy schedule and shoes that don’t cause a lot of pain, haha.
